David Agmashenebeli University of Georgia (DAUG) was established in 1991, blessed by His Holiness Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of All Georgia, making it the first private higher educational institution in the country. The university offers Bachelor's (four-year), Master's (two-year), and Doctoral (three-year) programmes based on the ECTS system and is a member of the European Business Assembly. DAUG has been awarded institutional accreditation and works closely with leading European universities and scientific research facilities of Canada, publishing a joint scientific journal โ 'Innovative Medicine and Biology'. The School of Medicine โ also known as AIETI Medical School โ offers a 6-year English-medium Medical Doctor (MBBS equivalent) program of 360 ECTS credits, recognized by WHO, NMC (India), FAIMER, ECFMG, and the National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE) of Georgia.
