About Kazan State Medical University

Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) is one of Russia's oldest and most prestigious medical institutions. The date of its creation is considered to be May 14, 1814, when the first meeting of the council of the medical department of the Imperial Kazan University took place. KSMU is the only university in Kazan recognized by WHO and listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (AVICENNA Directory for Medicine), and the only university in Kazan recognized by ECFMG (USA) and leading medical councils including AMC and GMC. Around 700 students from more than 57 countries study here, with clinical training performed at 54 units of the Ministry of Public Health of the Russian Federation, including 33 general hospitals, 21 polyclinics, maternity houses, and dental polyclinics
