Application Deadlines for Top MBA Programs in 2025
Every year, thousands of ambitious professionals from around the world compete for a limited number of seats at the world's most prestigious MBA programmes. For the 2025–26 academic cycle, leading business schools have released their round-wise application deadlines, and for Indian applicants — the largest non-US international group at most M7 schools — the window to submit a competitive application is shorter than many realise.
Harvard Business School has set its Round 1 deadline for September 4, 2025, with Round 2 closing on January 7, 2026. HBS does not offer a Round 3 for most applicants. The school received over 10,000 applications last cycle for approximately 930 seats, producing an acceptance rate of around 11%. HBS uses a holistic review process and is particularly known for its case-method pedagogy and emphasis on leadership experiences. For Indian applicants, having a clear articulation of how their background connects to their post-MBA goals — and specifically why HBS over other schools — is critical.
Stanford Graduate School of Business announced its Round 1 deadline as September 10, 2025 and Round 2 as January 8, 2026. Stanford GSB maintains the lowest acceptance rate among all M7 schools at 6.9% and is highly selective about candidates who demonstrate a clear and ambitious vision for their impact on the world. The median GMAT score for Stanford's most recent admitted class is 740, though the range extends from under 700 to 800, reflecting the school's focus on the whole applicant.
The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania operates on a three-round system: Round 1 closes September 17, 2025, Round 2 on January 7, 2026, and Round 3 on April 1, 2026. Wharton is globally recognised for its depth in finance, operations, and healthcare management. The school's MBA class of 2025 reported a median base salary of $175,000 at graduation, with consulting and financial services accounting for approximately 45% of placements.
MIT Sloan School of Management has set Round 1 for September 25, 2025 and Round 2 for January 22, 2026. Columbia Business School offers an Early Decision option with a binding deadline of August 7, 2025, with Regular Decision Round 1 closing October 2, 2025 and Round 2 closing January 8, 2026. Columbia's New York City location gives students unparalleled access to the global headquarters of leading financial institutions, media companies, and startups.
At the European level, INSEAD — with campuses in Fontainebleau, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi — is the most internationally diverse MBA programme in the world, with students from over 80 nationalities in each cohort. INSEAD's January 2026 intake has an application deadline in September 2025. London Business School operates with Round 1 closing in October 2025 for its September 2026 entry cohort. LBS is particularly valued by Indian students interested in careers in private equity, management consulting, and global strategy.
ISB (Indian School of Business) in Hyderabad and Mohali continues to be the premier MBA destination within India. ISB's PGP is a one-year intensive programme consistently ranked among the top 25 globally by the Financial Times. The average work experience of an ISB student is five years, and the median salary at graduation was ₹34.06 lakh per annum in the most recent cohort. For all MBA applicants, applying in Round 1 is consistently recommended for maximum scholarship consideration and seat availability. Starting the process at least eight to ten months before your target first deadline is the most reliable way to produce a competitive application.
