About David Agmashenebeli University of Georgia
David Agmashenebeli University of Georgia (DAUG) was established in 1991, blessed by His Holiness Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of All Georgia, making it the first private higher educational institution in the country. The university offers Bachelor's (four-year), Master's (two-year), and Doctoral (three-year) programmes based on the ECTS system and is a member of the European Business Assembly. DAUG has been awarded institutional accreditation and works closely with leading European universities and scientific research facilities of Canada, publishing a joint scientific journal — 'Innovative Medicine and Biology'. The School of Medicine — also known as AIETI Medical School — offers a 6-year English-medium Medical Doctor (MBBS equivalent) program of 360 ECTS credits, recognized by WHO, NMC (India), FAIMER, ECFMG, and the National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE) of Georgia. The university's medical departments include the Institute of Anatomy and Physiology, Department of Hospital Therapy, Department of General Surgery, Department of Obstetrics and Pediatrics, Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases and Family Medicine, and Department of Morphological Disciplines and Public Health. The staff includes over 100 doctors who teach entirely in English using the latest USA medical textbooks and manuals.
