International Black Sea University

International Black Sea University (IBSU), established in 1995 in Tbilisi, Georgia, holds the distinction of being the first English-language private university in the country. Founded under a bilateral Georgia–Turkey agreement, IBSU has grown into one of Georgia's most prestigious institutions with over 50 accredited undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. The university is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO), National Medical Commission (NMC), and the National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEE/NCEQE) of Georgia. Its Medicine School, offering the English-taught Medical Doctor (MBBS) program, provides international students — especially from India — with world-class medical education aligned with European standards. IBSU is a member of the Magna Charta Universitatum consortium of 10,000+ global institutions and the Francophone University Association (AUF). It maintains a 8:1 student-faculty ratio and has active exchange programs with universities across Europe, Asia, and America through bilateral and Erasmus+ partnerships.
