About Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University
Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), established on January 26, 1918, is the oldest university in Georgia and the entire Caucasus region. Named after its founder, the renowned Georgian historian and academician Ivane Javakhishvili, TSU is Georgia's premier public research university and the country's #1 ranked institution. With over 22,000 students across 7 faculties, 200+ accredited programs, 16 research institutes, and more than 100 laboratories, TSU is a comprehensive academic institution of the highest standing. The Faculty of Medicine, reestablished in 1994 for international students, offers a fully English-medium Medical Doctor (MBBS equivalent) program recognized by the WHO, NMC (India), ECFMG, WFME, FAIMER, UNESCO, and the Georgian Ministry of Education.
