Sichuan University

Sichuan University (SCU), founded in 1896, is one of China's oldest and most prestigious comprehensive universities. As a national key public research university located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, it holds Class A Double First-Class University status under China's national education initiatives. The current Sichuan University was formed in 1994 through the merger of three distinguished institutions: the original Sichuan University (founded 1896), Chengdu University of Science and Technology, and West China University of Medical Sciences. The Medical Council of India and the World Health Organisation recognise Sichuan University, China. The MBBS degree offered by this prestigious institute is accepted on the international stage. West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University, enrolled the first batch of international MBBS students in 2001 and has been one of the pioneer medical universities in China to start teaching MBBS in English medium to foreign students.
