Yes, Wenzhou Medical University China is approved for Indian students and is one of the NMC-approved medical universities in China. Students passing out from WMU are eligible to practice in India after taking the NExT/FMGE exit exam.
WMU offers 100% English Medium MBBS. It is not a bilingual university — the whole MBBS program is delivered in the English language so that international students can understand it easily.
The MBBS course at Wenzhou Medical University takes a total of 6 years to complete — 5 years of classroom training followed by a 1-year compulsory internship in affiliated hospitals.
WMU provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls with fully furnished, air-conditioned rooms including telephone, TV, and Wi-Fi facility. Laundry facility and pantry on each floor for self-cooking are also available. Students can choose from single, double, or multi-sharing rooms.
Wenzhou Medical University MBBS admission requirements include a score of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in Class XII. NEET qualification is mandatory (2025/2024/2023 accepted). Minimum age is 17 years.
The tuition fee has been updated to 33,000 RMB/year ($4,580 USD approx.) as of August 2025. The total cost of doing MBBS at WMU is approximately ₹26 Lakhs INR for the complete course.
Normally, there are two intakes every year in WMU. March Intake — students start applying from October in the previous year and it continues to January. September Intake — students apply from February to August.
WMU has the necessary NMC accreditation so Indian graduates may appear in NExT to do PG in India or practice medicine in India. Students may also choose to do PG in the US, UK, Germany, and other countries.
