About Caucasus International University
Caucasus International University (CIU) was established in 1995 as a medical institute named "Clinitsist" and evolved into a multi-profile higher education institution in 2006. CIU operates as a Legal Entity of Private Law — a Limited Liability Company — and secured its initial licence from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Georgia in 1995, gaining accreditation in 2005. CIU successfully underwent its third consecutive authorization in 2024, and its student body includes 7,400 students, with 3,000 enrolled in Georgian and English-language medical programs. The university has five faculties — Medicine, Viticulture-Winemaking, Social Sciences and Humanities, Business and Technology, and Law — and offers Bachelor's, One-step, Master's, and Doctoral programs. The clinical study is conducted in leading modern partner hospitals in Georgia and in Spain (clinical rotations). CIU has gained international recognition through its partnerships with over 90 universities worldwide and participates in Erasmus+ mobility programs. The Medical Doctor (MBBS equivalent) program is a 6-year, English-medium, 360 ECTS program recognized by WHO, NMC (India), WFME, ECFMG, FAIMER, and listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS). In 2018, CIU was recognized as a "Leader of 2018" at the 48th National Business Leaders Award Ceremony
